Vitaly Napadow, PhD, LAc

Vitaly Napadow is an Associate Professor at the Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA, where he is also the Director of the Center for Integrative Pain Neuroimaging (CiPNI). Vitaly practices acupunctureat the Pain Management Center at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He received his Ph.D. in biomedical engineering from the Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology program and a Masters in Acupuncture from the New England School of Acupuncture (NESA), after which he completed an acupuncture internship at Wan Jing Hospital and Beijing Hospital of TCM in Beijing, China. Since that time, Vitalyhas led a neuroscience Lab focusing on human neuroimaging and acupuncture analgesia research for close to 15 years. Dr. Napadow is also the co-President of the Society for Acupuncture Researchandhas co-Authored more than 120 publications in leading peer-reviewed journals,many of them contributing to acupuncture neuroimaging research.
