Professional experience:

From 1980 to 2012 Medical Director of Psychiatry role in the National Health Service at the AUSL of Bologna, Department of Mental Health, in carrying out clinical psychiatry and activities for the integration of MNC in the NHS.
He promoted, organized and chaired, as part of the 43rd National Congress of the Italian Society of Psychiatry, the first Consensus Conference on Non Conventional Medicines in Italy in the National Health Service, which produced the first Consensus Statement on Non Conventional Medicine in Italy, signed by the most authoritative and representative associations, schools of MNC in the medical and NHS services to MNC and patient organizations October 20, 2003.
He founded the no profit Permanent Committee of Consensus and Coordination for Non Conventional Medicine in Italy, made in Bologna December 5, 2003 between the signatories of the Consensus Document which coordinated until 20 March 2009; is responsible for the international relations of the Committee.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

Degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Bologna (July 24, 1979) with a final mark of 110/110 cum laude Experimental dissertation: “Indagine poligrafica su un esperto di yoga” ("Polygraphic Investigation on a Yoga Expert") with recommedation of publication.
Qualification to practice as a Medical Doctor, received in 1979, University of Bologna.
Specialization degree in Psychiatry completed at the University of Bologna in 1983 with a final mark of 70/70; dissertation in Transcultural Psychiatry entitled “Il pensiero di Jung tra Oriente e Occidente” ("The Philosophy of Jung between East and West").
